You’re spending all your time searching and trying to find the perfect history curriculum and it’s simply

impossible

Everything is outdated, Euro-centric or just plain boring.

Does any of this sound familiar?

WHAT IF THINGS COULD BE

different

Everyone is represented . The stories challenge what you know in the best way possible. You're so excited to learn with your children.

Every book is fresh, engaging and makes you excited to devour the next!

Homeschooling or learning has been more fun as you're surrounded by a community, that not only does things together, but provides a safe place to share any and all concerns you have. Not only do you learn together, but you create real stories that do not have an agenda except to represent our diverse history in total.

If you’re finding yourself nodding along to all this, you’re not alone…

Back in 2019 before I started compiling my own lists of books and activities, I used to search the perfect blend of curriculums that would fit my kids. I found that purchase after purchase left me frustrated and desiring more. Then one day, I had the idea to create my own

As I began I had no clue what I was looking for and I didn’t even known where to start. There was so much that I wanted to include. I struggled to find books by people of color. So What did I do? I found myself at a local book store (Bargain Books) sifting through every single shelf. After hours of hunting I had less than 10 books that had made my list. It was disheartening to say the least!

Then it hit me! Well in a dream anyway. I knew how I would weave this altogether. I would design letters sent by an old grandmother who would tell children or any reader actually of the things of old. There would be stories, facts, geography and beautiful art all intertwined. And it wouldn’t be an ounce of boring because videos and storybooks would be at the forefront!

As a socially conscious educator, I’ve tried to be cognizant of what I expose my kids to. I have also realized that in the past I have exposed them to many narratives of Blacks in America but never from South Africa. That was a problem, not only for them but many others in the country. It was then I realized that as a digital product, I wanted to share this with as many people who could benefit.

HI! I'M LUNGA...

I am a teen with dyslexia and I’ve created ways to solve challenges of learning to read. My dream is for every student who struggles in school to be able to overcome their difficulties. For myself, I dream of running my own business, being an author, a pilot and an aeronautical engineer. I am currently dual enrolled in Cerro Coso College as a freshman majoring in business. I love to travel and find it hard to sit still for any reason.

I work hard because that is who I am even though sometimes it is

not easy and my dreams are really BIG. I love vintage cars, history, fashion and all things around airplanes.

One of those solutions is our organization, the Peniel Collective, LLC .

“It’s absolutely amazing and refreshing to see our history from our perspective.”

“We’ve spent a month exploring the Kalahari Desert and meerkats. In addition to the letters and books, we also watched the Meerkat Manor series. I’m not sure how this was received in South Africa, but my son has really enjoyed seeing so much of the Kalahari. He thinks it’s beautiful!”

“It’s [Ndebele] my favorite so far. I LOVE the culture and the art!”
